Labour Community Advocate Program
Operated by union members, for union members, the Labour Community Advocate program offers confidential referrals, support, guidance and information to co-workers who need assistance finding services in our community.
Trained through the Canadian Labour Congress' Labour Community Advocate program, participants are volunteers or may be appointed by their local union. Labour Community Advocates are not a therapists or specialists; they are there to listen, identify, refer and follow up, acting as the link between a worker with a problem, and the appropriate service in the community.
If you're interested in providing a support to your co-workers and serving as a vital link between locals, United Way and community services, contact our Labour Coordinator Roxanne Bond to find out what opportunities are available.
